What We Do We answer emergency and non-emergency calls from the public who are reporting a crime and need police assistance. We quickly and accurately obtain all the information needed to assist the police in responding to the request for help. Using state-of-the-art radio and computer technology, we dispatch our police officer to the scene. We function like an orchestra conductor responding to calls, coordinating police officers, and finding help when and where it is needed. (Applicants may be considered if they have 4 years of residency.) * You have a Canadian high school diploma or a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma. * You are proficient in English, written and spoken Who Can Apply BC RCMP is recruiting applicants that reside within a 500 km radius of Courtenay, Kelowna, Prince George and Surrey (British Columbia).
