The City of Abbotsford has a four-month co-op opportunity starting May 2024, with an hourly wage of $19.21 – $24.47 dependent on year of study. This position will work from Abbotsford Recreation Centre located at 2499 McMillan Rd, Abbotsford. What you will do: * Assist the Community Recreation Coordinator and Programmers with all aspects of community recreation program support and administrative tasks * Assist with summer day camp programs, * Assist with Recreation special events * Assist with seasonal program offerings. Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience: * Enrolled in a Recreation / Leisure Services program is preferred, or related discipline, at a post- secondary institution * Ability to teach sport and recreation skills and manage large groups of children * Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite * Strong customer service skills * Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written * Good interpersonal and organizational skills * Able to provide a current police information check * Ability to work flexible work hours, including evenings and weekends * Valid Class 5 BC Drivers’ License; Drivers Abstract will be required when applying Application instructions: * A cover letter, resume and transcript are required. * In your cover letter, state why you are suitable for the role. * Submit all documents in one file (system accepts Word or PDF files). * References will be required as part of the recruitment process. * The posting will close at 5:00pm on the closing date of the competition.
